Kent Crusaders booked their place in the Patrons Cup final with an 85-97 away victory over Thames Valley Crusaders in Uxbridge on Sunday evening.

Crusaders recovered from a poor defensive first half that saw them allow 61 points, to put together one of their better all around performances of the season in the third and fourth quarters to book their Final spot.

RJ Eytle-Rock led Kent with 24 points, John Shodipo had 19 and Adamu finished with 15.

“I was proud of the way we played in the second half today,” said Crusaders Head Coach Lloyd Gardner.

“I thought we came out really flat and we were lucky to still be in the game the way we started. But we showed some great resilience to hang around. Then in the second half as I said our performance was much better. Thames valley are a talented team so this was a great win for us and we are delighted to make the final.”

Kent will take on Team Newcastle University – who they lost to in their last match up after 4 overtime periods – in the final, after the North-based side beat Nottingham Hoods in their semi-final.

Martelle McLemore led Thames Valley with 26 points.

The final is scheduled for February 19 at University of Hertfordshire at 1pm.
