Crusaders back to winning ways

Kent Crusaders bounced back from their tough 4OT loss last weekend with an 87-104 away win over Tees Valley Mohawks in Division 2 Men’s action on Saturday night.

John Shodipo led Kent with a 33 point outing, whilst Amin Adamu and Tim Shodipo added 15 each.

Crusaders took control early and faced little resistance on their way to a 24 point halftime lead. However, Kent took their foot off the gas in the third period, as Tees Valley fought back before the away team ran out comfortable winners.

“It was a solid performance from us,” said Kent Head Coach Lloyd Gardner.

“I thought offensively in the first half we played really well, had good rhythm, we shot the ball well from the perimeter as a team. We played very unselfishly and got a good lead.

“Third quarter we came out a bit flat. Mentally, I think we switched off because we had the lead and we made a bit of a game of it but we recovered well. For us, we were focusing on getting better defensively, there’s a couple of areas we have to get better at so it was a good opportunity for us to work on those ahead of the rest of the season.”

Charlton Jones led Tees Valley with 35.
Crusaders will look to get a streak going when they face Killamarsh Derbyshire Arrows on January 28 at home (2:45pm, Brompton Academy).
