After a rare weekend off, Medway Park Crusaders VCARS.co.uk Division 1 men travel to Leicester on Saturday for an encounter that could determine whether the team makes the playoffs.
“We are looking forward to getting back on court on Saturday. Last weekend off has hopefully helped us to recover and prepare us for the hectic and critical upcoming schedule,” says Head Coach Craig Nicol.
After winning three of its last four games, Crusaders sit in 11th in the table with a record of seven wins and 13 losses and still have a hope of capturing eighth spot and the final playoff place.
“We have put a decent run together and we will have to build on it if we want to have any chance of making playoffs. It starts on Saturday and the Leicester game is a must win,” says the coach.
Leicester Warriors currently are tied for that last playoff spot on nine wins and 10 loses. The Warriors beat Medway before Christmas on its home court 70-59 and coach Nicol knows it will be a tough place to go and get a win.
“Leicester away is always a tough place to go and play and Coach Karl Brown always has his teams working hard and competing for every possession. They have lost a couple of tough ones recently and will be fired up and ready for this game,” says Nicol.
