Former Gillingham midfielder Andrew Crofts was released by the Addicks on Thursday, and is expected to join his former Charlton team mate, Lee Novak, at Scunthorpe.
In his season at The Valley, Crofts made 54 appearances, scoring one goal, a late equaliser at Southend on the last day of 2016.
Karl Robinson had this to say about Crofts: “Like with Lee (Novak), I’d like to thank Crofty for his hard-work and professionalism.
“At the football club we have a lot of options in centre midfield with Ahmed (Kashi), Jake (Forster-Caskey), Joe (Aribo) and Ez (Konsa) can play in there too, so like with Lee’s, this was a deal that was best for all parties. I’d like to wish him all the best.”
Robinson’s midfield options were further reduced on Friday, when Regan Charles-Cook joined Woking on loan until January.
