Broadstairs racer Michael Crees has announced that he will be joining the British GT grid for the 2023 season.
Crees who is a fans favorite in the BTCC has been struggling to get a deal agreed to remain in the series with a sponsor pulling out.
However, luckily for him he had options in other race series and will line-up alongside Tom Holland at Raceway Motorsport in their second car.
The duo will be behind the wheel of the Ginetta G56 in the GT4 class, and Crees is no stranger to racing in a Ginetta. He won the GT4 Supercup Am class title with Century Motorsport, in 2018.
“I’m absolutely buzzing to get a deal done with Raceway Motorsport so late in the day as I honestly thought I would be sitting out this year due to some bad luck with sponsors,” he said.
“But I have to thank Luca [Hirst, team principal], Nigel [Holland] and Tom Holland for pulling this all together at such late notice!
“It will be a massive challenge but one I’m looking forward to as GT racing has always been on my radar and Le Mans has always been my end goal. I’m really looking forward to working with Ginetta again where I had so much success when starting out. Massive thanks to Vince [Caldicott] who has been by my side and my family for all their support. Roll on Oulton!”
