Cray Wanderers return to Isthmian League Premier Division action on Saturday afternoon when they entertain Carshalton Athletic at Flamingo Park.
The Wands go into the game having lost 2-0 away to Canvey Island last weekend, a result that left them in eighteenth with 15 points from 16 league matches.
There has been a steady turnover in personnel in Neil Smith’s squad so far this season with Anthony Cook recently departing for Rayners Lane, new signing Joshua Williams has made a promising start to his time at Flamingo Park as Cray Wands look to find the right formula to maintain their place in Step Three.
Carshalton make the journey over from Surrey sitting in eighth with 25 points from 17 games. Peter Adeniyi’s side drew 1-1 at home to Cheshunt last Saturday, before travelling to Hastings Utd on Tuesday night and also coming back with the same result.
The Robins recently signed striker David Smith who started the campaign with Cray, since joining the Colston Avenue side he has scored five times, his latest a penalty on Tuesday night.
When the sides met last season, The Wands came out on top winning 1-0 at Hayes Lane and 2-1 away and this encounter looks set to be equally as close. With Cray looking to put some daylight between themselves and the bottom four and Carshalton aiming to keep in touch with the play off spots this is a game that both sides will be keen to pick up points from as November comes to an end.
Entrance for the game is £12 for adults and £6 for concessions, with an excellent printed programme for £3. Kick off is at 3pm.
