Cray Wanderers vs Brightlingsea Regent preview

Cray Wanderers are back in Isthmian League Premier Division action on Saturday afternoon when they entertain Brightlingsea Regent at Hayes Lane.

The Wanderers go in to the game still unbeaten in 2020, sitting fourth on 61 points from 32 games, seven points behind leaders Worthing with a game in hand.

Last Sunday, Tony Russell’s side won 3-1 at home to Merstham with two first half goals from Joe Taylor and one from Bradley Pritchard.  The prolific Taylor has now taken his goals tally to 31 for the campaign so far, still with ten regular season games to play.

Brightlingsea make the trip over from the Essex coast sitting 22nd n the table on 24 points from 32 league matches played. Regent were also promoted last season, winning the North Division.

Last Saturday they ran out 1-0 winners away at Lewes with a goal from Jake Thompson, a vital win in their quest to escape the bottom three with a numbers of clubs sitting around the bottom third of the table on similar records.

When the sides met at Taydal Stadium in November, Cray won 2-0 with Taylor scoring both goals for The Wands.

This promises to be another entertaining encounter between two teams in need of points at either end of the division, with Cray looking to maintain their play off push and Brightlingsea fighting to avoid relegation.

Entry for the game is £10 for adults and £5 for concessions, but season ticket holders for Premier League, Football League and National League clubs can see the game for only £5 on production of their ticket at the gate.
