After 26 years of tenancy Cray Wanderers play their last ever home game at Hayes Lane on Saturday afternoon when they take on Bognor Regis Town in the Isthmian league Premier Division.
The Wands go into the game on a difficult run of form that has seen them lose their last four matches, the most recent being a 2-1 injury time defeat to Dartford in the London Senior Cup on Tuesday night. Nyren Clunis put The Wands in front early on, but The Darts levelled up in the first half and snatched the win late on.
Neil Smith’s side currently sit sixteenth in the table with 47 points from 40 league matches. Smith has brought in a number of young players into the first team squad from the under age sides and given them valuable game time as the season has progressed.
Bognor Regis Town make the trip up from the Sussex coast sitting in thirteenth with 53 points from 39 games. The Rocks drew 3-3 away at Carshalton Athletic last Saturday, Jasper Mather and Matt Burgess with two on target for Robbie Blake’s side.
When the sides met at Nyewood Lane in January, Bognor won 2-1 with two late goals from Dan Gifford after Gary Lockyer had put The Wands in front in the first half.
Cray will be hoping to end their time at Bromley with a positive result, while Blake has stated he wants Bognor to end the season with a flourish, so the ingredients should be the for an entertaining game with no pressure on either side.
Entrance for the game is £12 for adults and £6 for concessions with a printed programme at £2. Kick off is 3pm.
