Table topping Cray Wanderers take on eighteenth placed Wroxham in the Ryman League Division One North at Hayes Lane on Saturday looking to maintain their four point lead over the chasing pack.
The Wands are on a good run of form, winning their last four games and recorded another good away win last Saturday winning 2-1 at Maldon & Tiptree thanks to goals from Nathan Fox and James Duckworth.
Wroxham, currently on 20points from 21 games, went through November without a win, but beat Great Yarmouth 4-1 in the Norfolk Senior Cup in midweek and picked up a point at home to Romford last time out in the league having drawn 3-3 with Cheshunt the week before.
The Yachtsmen will travel down from Norfolk looking to and continue their upturn in fortunes and pick up more points to keep them away from any relegation threat.
Tony Russell’s squad have been boosted by the return of Andre McCollin from injury adding extra threat to their forward line, but they have also been helped out by a number of goals from defenders at set pieces including from Nathan Fox last weekend.
Although home crowds have improved significantly this season The Black and Ambers deserve a bigger audience for the attractive winning football they are playing, which as seen them lead the league for most of the season with an impressive 54 points from their 24 games so far.
