Cray Wanderers will be looking to bounce back from their 4-0 defeat at Tooting & Mitcham Utd at the weekend when they entertain Whyteleafe at Hayes Lane in The Ryman League Division One South on Wednesday night.
The injury and suspension hit Wands have lost their last two league games, although sandwiched in between this were two convincing wins in the FA Trophy, and they will still be without Danny Haynes and Jay Siva for this one along with a number of long term injury casualties including Grant Basey.
Tony Russell also lost the services of Bradley Woods-Garness who left to join Cambridge City last week and had to field a very young in-experienced side at Imperial Fields on Saturday where The Terrrors proved to be too good for them.
Whyteleafe make the short journey over from Surrey full of confidence on the back of two big wins, 7-2 over East Grinstead and 5-1 over Guernsey, sitting one place below The Wands in ninth both clubs on 27 points, but with Leafe having played two more games.
This will be the first time the two sides have met in the league for a number of seasons, with Leafe briefly having dropped down into the Kent League and The Wands having spells in Ryman Premier and Division One North.
Tony Russell will be hoping his side can lift themselves back up for what will be a close fought encounter between two sides who sit on the fringes of the play off spots.
