Following on from Saturday’s hard earned point, Cray Wanderers are back in Isthmian League Premier Division action on Wednesday night when they take on Whitehawk at Hayes Lane.
The Wands go into the game sitting in seventeenth with 17 points from 15 league matches, the drew 1-1 at home to Dulwich Hamlet last weekend with Gary Lockyer scoring a spectacular equaliser, his seventh goal for the club since returning to Neil Smith’s squad in September.
Cray are now unbeaten in three league games and slowly edging away from the bottom four.
Whitehawk make the trip up from Brighton sitting in twelfth with 21 points from 14 games, The Hawks have had a good run in the FA Trophy combined with a solid start in the league following promotion from Division One South East via the play offs last season.
Last Saturday Shaun Saunders’ side lost 1-0 away at Potters Bar Town, but in their previous league outing they drew 4-4 with Enfield Town.
The last time Cray Wands played Whitehawk was in the curtailed 2020/21 season, with The Wands winning 3-0 away in the FA Trophy at the end of October shortly before all football under the National League came to and end.
With both teams looking to end the month with a positive result this should be a close and entertaining game under the lights at Hayes Lane.
Entrance for the game is £12 for adults and £6 for concessions, plus there is an excellent printed programme at £2, kick off is at 7:45pm.
