There is an intriguing battle between the league leaders Cray Wanderers and fellow promotion rivals Thurrock in the Ryman League Division One North at Hayes Lane on Saturday.
After suffering only their fourth league defeat of the season on Boxing Day, losing 2-1 at Phoenix Sports, The Wands will be looking to bounce back straight away.
Thurrock are on a good run of form having moved up to fourth and with games in hand could go top if that continues.
On Tuesday night they defeated tenants Romford 3-1 at Ship Lane in front of a crowd of over 200.
Tony Russell had told his players there is no pressure on them to win the league, but they club are delighted in the way they are playing this season, Andre McCollin has rediscovered his scoring touch after a long spell off with injury and has added an extra dimension to The Wands forward line.
With Cray on 60 points from 28 games and Thurrock on 54 from 23 the two sides should be very closely matched as they begin 2016 looking to keep their respective promotion bids going.
