Cray Wanderers play their first competitive home game of the season on Wednesday night when they entertain Ramsgate in the Kent Senior Cup First Round at Hayes Lane.
The Wands won their first Bostik League Division One South East game on Saturday with an impressive 3-0 victory at Greenwich Borough, Michael Power continuing his goal scoring form from the last campaign finding the net twice.
The Rams who also play in the same division travel across the county from the coast on the back of a 2-1 loss at VCD Athletic last weekend.
With the divisions at this level reduced to 20 teams and only 38 league games, there may be more scope for managers to field stronger teams in the county cups than previously when they were faced with 46 matches before.
Cray and Ramsgate have met many times before from their days in the Kent League and when they both made their way up the pyramid, having spells in the Ryman League Premier Division. Last season Cray came out on top in the two league meetings winning 5-1 at Hayes Lane in November and 2-1 at Southwood Stadium in February.
This match promises to be an entertaining cup tie with both sides eyeing the possible chance to face National League opposition in the next round and a route all the way to the final next
