Cray Wanderers are back in London Senior Cup action on Wednesday night when they entertain Leyton Orient at Hayes Lane.
The Wands haven’t competed in this competition for a few years, but have re-entered this season, having had to withdraw in 2021.
Having been knocked out of both FA knock out competitions and the Kent Senior Cup at the first time of asking this will provide and extra chance to pick up some silverware this campaign.
Neil Smith’s side were without a game last weekend, but in their previous outing they drew 1-1 at home to Enfield Town in an entertaining and competitive match, Dan Bassett with The Wands equaliser in the second half.
After the weekend’s fixtures, Cray currently sit in seventh place with 20 points from 13 league games, just three points off the play off places.
Leyton Orient, who also had to withdraw from the cup last season, will be hoping they can give useful experience to their younger players and look to progress through the competition.
The Wands currently have young left back Harrison Sodje on loan from Orient, who has impressed in his first two matches.
The winners of this first round tie will be away to Dulwich Hamlet in the second round who have already knocked out Athletic Newham.
Entrance for the game is £10 for adults and £5 for concessions.
