Cray Wanderers return to Ryman League Division One South action at Hayes Lane on Saturday afternoon when they entertain fellow play off challengers Lewes.
After an enforced break due to postponements last month The Wands have been on a great run of form of late putting them right back in to the play off picture winning their last four matches leaving them in eighth with 56 points from 31 games.
On Wednesday night they travelled to Reigate to face South Park and ran out 4-1 winners with Luke Medley scoring a hatrick.
Manager Tony Russell’s squad has been boosted by the signing of strikers Luke Medley and Leigh Bremner, plus the return from injury of influential defender Grant Basey, which in turn has given Jay Sivapathasundaram the chance to move forward to left midfield.
Lewes make the trip up from Sussex in sixth place with 58 points from 32 games played, having beaten Chipstead 2-1 at The Dripping Pan last weekend.
The Rooks recently re-signed striker Jonte Smith who had a spell with Cray earlier in the season, but it was his fellow forward Stephen Okoh who scored both goals on Saturday.
When the two sides met in October, Lewes ran out 5-2 winners in a game that saw two Cray players sent off and with both sides in form this should be a close entertaining contest as The Wands and The Rooks look to gain an advantage in a hunt for a place in the top five.
