It’s a Kent derby between two promotion challengers at Hayes Lane on Saturday afternoon when Cray Wanderers entertain Hythe Town in the Bostik League South Division.
As well as the intriguing league match, the afternoon also marks the launch of the planning application for The Wands new ground at Flamingo Park on the A20.
Entrance is free to all spectators on the day and there will also be children’s entertainment and a chance for youngsters who arrive early to have a kick about with the first team players on the pitch. Gates open at 12.00pm
Tony Russell’s side recorded a creditable 1-1 draw at Carshalton Athletic last weekend with Michael Power once again finding the net.
The result left The Wands in fourth in the table, with 38 points from 19 played, unbeaten in thirteen league games. Hythe make the trip up from the coast sitting in 7th place with 37 points from 22 matches, in midweek Town lost 2-1 to Hendon in the League Cup having drawn 2-2 at home to Hastings Utd in the league last weekend.
When the two sides met at Hayes Lane last season Hythe ran out 1-0 winners in a very tight game.
This should be a cracking match between two good sides around the play off spots and with the added incentive of free entry for all.
