It’s a key game in the Isthmian League Premier Division play off race on Saturday afternoon, when Cray Wanderers entertain Horsham at Hayes Lane with both sides looking to break into the top five.
The Wands kept up their challenge last weekend with a 1-0 win at Brightlingsea Regent courtesy of a late goal from recent signing Destiny Olidapo, his second from two substitute appearances.
The victory moved Neil Smith’s side on to 60 points from 36 league games played and they currently sit in sixth place.
Cray goalkeeper Shaun Rowley was sent off late in the Brightlingsea match and will be suspended for the Horsham game, with the club bringing in former Sheppey Utd custodian Liam Northwood son of former Wands keeper Steve.
Smith also added Bromley midfielder Marcus Sablier on loan for the rest of the season.
Horsham sit in eighth place with 59 points from 36 matches, last Saturday The Hornets won 4-1 at home to Bowers & Pitsea with three goals from striker Daniel Ajakaiye and one from Jack Mazzone.
Dom Di Paola’s side have only lost twice this year as they have kept in touch with the top five.
When the sides met in the reverse fixture in November the game ended 2-2, Horsham taking a two goal first half lead through Jack Mazzone & Lee Harding, before Cray drew level with second half goals from Nyren Clunis & Anthony Cook.
This game looks set to be equally as close as two good sides meet looking to keep their play off challenges up going into the final month of the season.
The two sides have met on a regular basis since the 2004/05 season, when they were both in the Isthmian League Division One South and came up agauinst each other in the play off semi final, The Hornets winning 3-1 that night.
Entrance for the game is £12 for adults & £6 for concessions, while to celebrate Non League Day, EPL, Football League & Bromley adult season ticket holders can all see the game for half price upon presentation of their ticket at the gate.
There is also an excellent printed programme for £2.
