League leaders Cray Wanderers complete a busy week of Bostik League Division One South East fixtures with a home game against Guernsey at Hayes Lane on Saturday afternoon.
The Wands come into the game on the back of two impressive results having beaten Herne Bay 6-0 at home last weekend and then winning 3-1 at Whyteleafe on Tuesday night, a victory that maintained their thirteen point lead at the top of the division.
Tony Russell’s side have only lost one league game so far this season and have picked up 61 points from their 24 matches, playing some great football with goals coming from all round the squad. Their defensive record is equally as solid having only conceded three goals in 2019, all of which have been from the penalty spot.
Guernsey travel over sitting in 14th place with 25 points from 23 games played, on Wednesday night they lost 5-2 at home to East Grinstead Town, which was their first defeat of 2019, having previously drawn three and won one. When The Green Lions met The Wands in November, Cray won 2-1 at Footes Lane with goals from Bradley Pritchard and Archie Johnson for the visitors either side of a William Fazakerley strike.
The Wands will be keen to continue their fine form and cement the gap between themselves and the chasing pack, while Guernsey will be hoping to bounce back from their midweek disappointment.
Admission Prices are £10 for adults and £5 for concessions, but season ticket holders of Premier League, Football League and National League sides can get in for only £5, while a Ladies Day initiative sees free entry for female fans. The game kicks off at 2pm to allow for the visitors travel arrangements.
