Cray Wanderers v Corinthian Casuals preview

Cray Wanderers’ outside bid for the play offs continues on Saturday afternoon when they entertain relegation threatened Corinthian Casuals in the Isthmian League Premier Division at Hayes Lane knowing that only a win will really do to keep them in touch with the top five.

The Wands drew 1-1 away at fifth place Enfield Town last weekend, Harrison Sodje with a late equaliser to pick up a point for Neil Smith’s side, the draw keeping them in sixth with 64 points from 38 league matches, four points behind The Es in the final play off place, but after Lewes’ draw on Friday they dropped to seventh.

Cray went the whole of March unbeaten and will need to repeat the feat in April to keep their promotion hopes alive with four games remaining in the schedule.

Corinthian Casuals make the journey over from Tolworth sitting in twenty first place, ten points off safety with four matches to play, on 26 points from 38 games.

Last Saturday Casuals won 1-0 away at Potters Bar Town, Bromley loanee Finlay Lovatt with the goal, their second win in a row under interim manager Brain Adamson who is in charge until the end of the season when former Crystal Palace & England player Andy Gray takes over.

When the teams met at King George’s Field in October Cray won 3-1, with goals from Dan Bassett, Ben Krauhaus and Tom Derry, after Mo Diallo had put Casuals in front in the first half. With both sides in desperate need of points at opposite ends of the table they will be looking to pick up three points, which should make for an enthralling game.

Entrance for the game is £12 for adults and £6 for concessions, Bromley, Millwall and Crystal Palace adult season ticket holders can see the game for £6. There is also an excellent printed programme for £2.
