Cray Wanderers are back in Isthmian League Premier Division action on Tuesday night when they take on Chichester City at Flamingo Park.
The Wands go into the game having beaten Bowers & Pitsea 1-0 on Saturday courtesy of a Frankie Raymond penalty late in the second half. The victory moved Neil Smith’s side up to seventeenth in the table with 19 points from 18 league matches, wit the team looking more solid and new signings settling in.
Chichester make the journey up from Sussex sitting in fifteenth with 22 points from 18 games. Last weekend they lost 3-2 at home to Hastings Utd, having come back from 2-0 down only to concede a third 18 minutes from time. City’s goals coming from Lloyd Rowlatt and Jimmy Wild.
This is the first meeting between the teams this season, Chichester City were promoted via the play offs in May from Division One South East and Miles Rutherford’s side have made a steady start to life in the Premier Division as well as having a run in the FA Trophy.
With both sides looking to put some more daylight between themselves and the bottom four this looks set to be a closely fought encounter under the lights at The Wands new home.
Entrance for the game is £12 for adults, £6 for concessions and there is an excellent printed programme for £3. Kick off it at 7.45pm.
