Cray Wanderers return to Isthmian League Premier Division action on Saturday afternoon when they entertain Cheshunt at Hayes Lane.
The Wands go into the game having picked up an impressive point away from home at Horsham last weekend, coming back from a goal down twice to draw 2-2 thanks to goals from Chris Dickson & Cameron Brodie.
The draw kept Grant Basey’s side in nineteenth place with 28 points from 32 league matches played, one place above the relegation zone, having had three points deducted last month.
In the last five league games Cray have won two, drawn two and lost one. Cheshunt make the journey down from North London sitting in tenth place with 46 points from 28 games, last Saturday they drew 1-1 at home to Potters Bar Town, with Reece Beckles-Richards scoring the equaliser for The Ambers.
Craig Edwards’ side are on a good run of form only losing once in the last five and that was a single goal defeat away at National League leaders Stockport County in the FA Trophy.
When the sides met at Theobolds Lane in October, Cheshunt won 4-0 with all the goals coming in the second half, Beckles-Richards scoring twice along with Amadou Kassarate & Mo Camara.
Since their last home game The Wands have added keeper Joseph Wright on loan from Millwall to cover the injury to Bailey Vose, and also brought in striker Narcis-Florin Fiip from Haringey Borough & defender Denzel Williams who came through the ranks at Blackpool.
Defender Nazir Bakrin’s loan spell from Charlton Athletic has been extended for another month and left midfielder Sam Wood returned to the starting line up at Horsham.
This looks set to be a closely fought match between two in form teams, with The Wands looking to pick up more vital points in the quest to avoid any relegation worries come the end of the season.
Kick off is 3pm, entrance is £10 for adults & £5 for concessions, with an excellent printed programme at £2.
