After nearly a month away Cray Wanderers return to Isthmian League Premier Division action at Hayes Lane on Wednesday night when they entertain Brightlingsea Regent.
The Wands go into the game sitting in ninth place with sixteen points from eleven league games, having won four and drawn four, just two points of the play off places.
On Saturday Neil Smith’s side drew 1-1 at Potters Bar Town, with Mitch Chapman equalising for Cray in the first half. Bromley loanee Kellen Fisher made his debut in defence joining fellow Raven loan player Ben Krauhaus in the starting line up, with recent signing Tom Stagg also on the bench.
The Wands will be hoping to kick start their league campaign after a month of games that has seen them only pick up one league win and exit two cup competitions.
Brightlingsea Regent make the trip over from Essex sitting in twentieth place with seven points from nine league games, winning two and drawing once, last week they lost 3-0 away to Kingstonian, their third consecutive defeat and they were without a game at the weekend.
Bret Munyard’s Regent haven’t won since 17th September and will be looking to get a run together to take them out of the bottom four, with games in hand on the other sides down there.
When the sides me last season Brightlingsea completed the double over Cray winning 2-0 at Hayes Lane in September thanks to a double from Ken Feyi and 1-0 at home in January through Aaron Blair’s goal.
This looks set to be a tight competitive fixture with two sides looking to get back to winning ways in the league as they head into a busy schedule of fixtures entering the winter months.
Kick off is at 7:45pm. Entrance for the game is £12 for adults and £6 for concessions, with an excellent printed programme at £2.
