Cray Wanderers are back in Isthmian League Premier Division action on Saturday afternoon when seventh takes on third, as they entertain in form AFC Hornchurch at Hayes Lane.
The Wands go into the game on the back of a 1-0 loss at Hastings Utd last weekend, having drawn 0-0 at home to Folkestone the previous Wednesday.
The defeat in Sussex and the results in midweek saw Neil Smith’s side drop to seventh in the table, just outside the play off spots with 51 points from 32 league games and they will need to get back to winning ways to stay in touch with the top five going into the last stretch of games.
Hornchurch make the trip over from Essex sitting in third, unbeaten in six matches. The Urchins played Bognor Regis Town at home on Tuesday night, winning 1-0 with a goal from Sam Higgins.
The victory leaving them with 59 points from 29 matches played, still in with a chance of automatic promotion, just three points behind leaders Bishop’s Stortford with a game in hand.
When the two sides met in the reverse fixture at Bridge Avenue back in September, Mark Stimson’s Hornchurch won 2-1 with a double from Higgins either side of Dan Bassett’s goal for Cray and this game looks set to be just as close, with both teams in need of a win to keep them right up in the promotion and play off pictures.
Entrance for what promoises to be a very good game is £12 for adults and £6 for concessions, Bromley FC adult season ticket holders can see the match for £6 and there is an excellent printed programme at £2.
