Cray Wanderers have attempted to ease injury concerns by announce the signing on a three month loan of Joel Rollinson from League 2 Stevenage.

Joel who can play midfield or preferred wide right started out in the Reading Youth system playing at U18s, U19s & U23s level. Whilst at Reading Joel made two appearances in the EFL Cup in the 2017-18 season for the Royals U23s against Colchester United and Gillingham.

In November 2018 Joel joined Conference South Eastbourne Borough on a two month loan and scored one goal in ten appearances. At the end of last season Joel was released by Reading but in August 2019 was signed by Stevenage following a trial period. Joel made his Stevenage debut at home to Bradford City in August.

Cray have a shortage of players out wide with Tom Murphy and Jerome Federico expected to be on the sidelines from between 3-6 weeks and Joel would fit the bill to cover the always busy festive period of the season. This follows a very successful two month spell at Cray Wanderers for central defender Harry Hudson from Watford between August-October.

Wands manager Tony Russell has spotted Joel last season “We have worked on a deal to get Joel in with Stevenage due to the injuries as we only have Andre Coker and Ben Mundele fit out wide and we have signed him on a three month loan. Joel is a player we really like who went on loan to Eastbourne Borough last year and did well for them and he should be in the squad for Saturday’s game with Cheshunt and this gives him the valuable experience of first team football that he needs.”
