Crash for Dixon in Misano

Jake Dixon crashed out of the Emilia-Roagna GP from seventh place in the latest round of the Moto2 World Championship.

Dixon has been the form rider of the series for the last five rounds and was looking to close the gap further on the championship leaders in Misano, that sadly was not to be last weekend.

Dixo started fifth on the grid, which put him right where he wanted to be as the lights went out. However, on the first lap he slipped down to seventh place.

When he was fighting to recover positions and get closer to the leading group, he crashed, making it a disappointing end to his weekend. For the rider from Dover, he now turns his attentions to getting back to the podium next weekend in Indonesia.

Speaking after the weekend, Dixon said: “It has been unfortunate. Honestly, I have not done too much wrong, it just was not our day. I have crashed doing the same as what I have done before. I just lost the front and I have crashed.

“Misano has always been a little bit tough but I am happy because we have made good progress over the weekend and over the two weeks that we have raced here. In that sense, I am satisfied, but obviously I am not happy with the result.”
