Kent’s Jake Dixon was unable to finish the last race of the Moto2 season in Barcelona at the weekend.
In what was his last race with the CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team before he heads to pastures new in the Moto2 paddock for 2025, Dixon was hoping to sign-off the season in style.
Having qualified fourth on the grid for the race on Sunday, the Dover rider was hoping to compete at the sharp end and maybe finish with a podium.
It wasn’t to be however, after making a great start to get into podium positions. He made a mistake on the first lap and dropped down a number of positions.
Showing his fighting spirit, Dixon fought to get back to say goodbye to the team in the best possible way, but he unfortunately crashed after an incident with another rider.
Speaking after the weekend, Dixon said: “It is a shame to finish the way we have finished. We were doing a very good weekend until that point.
“It has been unfortunate, but these things happen. I want to give massive thanks to the team for their hard work this season.”
