Coyle full of praise for spirited Darts

Joint manager Jamie Coyle praised Dartford’s attitude and desire as the Darts’ second half comeback earned them their first point of the National League South campaign at Princes Park.

The Darts went behind within the first 10 minutes on Tuesday night in a first half performance that Coyle felt left the team undeservedly behind:

It’s a terrible goal to concede as a team and we’re disappointed with that. In the first half I felt we played very well and just conceded a very sloppy goal, we should have been going into half time feeling positive.”

Luke Wanadio was on hand to bring the Darts level on 60 minutes as Snedker in the St Albans goal could only parry Adam Cunnington’s goal bound effort into the path of the former Aldershot man who rifled home the equaliser.

The equaliser was testament to the Darts’ persistence throughout the game and Coyle was quick to praise the desire the team showed in order to get back into the game:

Testament to the players, after what happened on Saturday they could have felt sorry for themselves, they’ve got back in the game and could have potentially nicked it at the end.”

Dartford now look ahead to another home fixture this coming Saturday against Havant and Waterlooville in search of their first win.

Coyle is all to wary of the upcoming clash: “We’ve got some real tough games coming up, from what we’ve seen so far a lot of teams in our league have improved and it’s going to be a real tough season. We need to try and get a positive result on Saturday and kick on from there.”

The Darts face Havant and Waterlooville in a 3pm kick off at Princes Park this Saturday.
