All-rounder Fabian Cowdrey has left Kent by mutual consent.
The 24-year-old was a graduate of the Kent Cricket Academy and joined the professional staff in 2011 before making his first class debut in 2012.
Cowdrey said: “I’d like to thank all those team members and coaching staff who believed in me and offered me support in my toughest times at the Club.
“I wish all the supporters, Matt Walker and the players all the best for the future. It was not an easy decision for me and I am sad to be leaving Kent; but I believe for the club and for my own well-being it is the right time to leave.
“I was proud to have followed in the footsteps of my father and grandfather and play for my home county.”
He is the third generation of the Cowdrey family, after father Chris and grandfather Colin to play for Kent.
Cowdrey featured more in the white-ball competitions and scored seven half-centuries and took 34 wickets in 60 appearances. He scored two half-centuries in 16 County Championship matches with the Club.
Chairman of cricket Graham Johnson: “We always knew about his batting but his bowling has developed into a useful attribute in the shorter formats. It is sad to see him go and he leaves with our best wishes.”
