Kent rally driver Louise Cook is giving fans a once in a lifetime chance of being her co-driver at Rockingham to raise much needed funds.
The 25 year old Maidstone based World Rally Championship driver is giving motor sport fans the chance to take the place of regular co-driver Stefan Davis for the Rockingham Stages event in December which was where Cook made her rally debut back in 2006.
The auction of the position on ebay closes in just nine days time and will give the co-driver their National B license and a sick bag!
Cook is auctioning off the chance as part of a massive fundraising push to make it to the next WRC round, Rallye De Sardegna and avoid the dreaded FIA fines in the process.
Louise solely funds her rally career through sponsorship as the big budgets that the World Rally Championship demands are out of reach for any average salary.
“I am always looking for different ways to fund raise, the first thing I ever had to let go was my beloved road car back in 2010! I saved for ages for that Ford convertible StreetKa, but she had to go to pay for the next round.” said Cook.
“I have sold my trophies on ebay earlier this year another sad moment and I am simply looking at any ways possible raise funds for these expensive events.”
“Obviously, my main focus is seeking sponsorship from companies, whether its £50 support or a commercial sponsor, I understand that everything really does add up and will never sit back and wait for one company to come along and fund the full £100,000, it just does not work like that.”
Louise works 24/7 on finding sponsorship. It has become her full time job by default, but with still trying to fund 2012 and most companies looking at 2013, the final part of the season is always tough.
So, Louise now has two other fund raising auction on eBay, a chance to be her codriver and a chance to have your company’s logo plastered all over the rear quarter for Rally d’Italia in a few weeks time.
