Mike Conway was back on track over the weekend as he took part on the 60th Anniversary of the Macau Grand Prix.
Unusually for Conway he was at the wheel of a tin top as he took part in the Scirocco R China Masters Challenge.
He brought his VW home in third place having qualified in third place and he drove well in the race and maintained third place throughout the race.
Speaking about taking part in the anniversary weekend, Conway said: “It was a lot of fun driving these Scirocco’s on this street circuit.
“It was great to be back at the Macau GP having last been here when I won in 2006. Having the chance to race with some legendary names was a great opportunity. The race itself went well and am happy to have got a podium finish. Thank you to everyone involved in making it happen.”
Mike’s appearance in China comes just a day after Ed Carpenter racing announced that he would be racing for them on the street and road races in the Izod IndyCar series in 2014.
However, for Conway his 2013 is still not over just yet as he has the final race of the World Endurance Championship race in Bahrain.
That race takes place in two weeks’ time and Conway and his G-Drive teammates will be hoping to make it four wins in a row in LMP2.
