Mike Conway has announced that he will no longer be taking part in the 2014/15 Formula E Championship when it gets underway shortly.
Due to time commitments and his sports car timetables with Toyota, Mike can no longer commit to running for Dragon racing.
The Sevenoaks racer was only going to be racing in the first three races of the inaugural season but that can no longer happen, due to his commitment to Toyota.
Mike Conway and Dragon Racing have today announced that Conway will not be driving for them in the 2014/15 FIA Formula E Championship.
Dragon Racing have confirmed today that Oriol Servia will fill Mike’s seat and race the temporary circuit in Beijing, which is built around the city’s Olympic Stadium, for the first race in eight days’ time.
Speaking about having to give up such an exciting opportunity, Conway said: “I wish all the guys at Dragon the best of luck for the forthcoming Formula E season. It’s a shame I can no longer participate but as I couldn’t commit to the whole championship, we both felt it best to focus my attention on my sports car programme. I’m looking forward to watching the new series unfold and hope Servio and d’Ambrosio bring home some podiums for the team.”
Mike will fly to Austin for the fourth round of the 2014 World Endurance Championship on the 20th September.
