Mike Conway will be back racing in the series that he loves so much the Izod IndyCar series as Ed Carpenter racing announced he will be joining their driver line-up in 2014.
Conway will be racing in all the street and road racers during the season with Ed Carpenter the owner racer of the team taking the wheel for the oval races.
It means a return to the series which has seen Mike become successful just this season this season netting his second series victory.
Conway will be racing in twelve Indy Car races throughout next season which will give him a great chance of adding to his race victories in the series.
Speaking about why he chose Conway, Ed Carpenter said: “We couldn’t be happier to welcome Mike Conway to the Ed Carpenter Racing family. My partners, (team manager) Tim Broyles, and I are committed to building an organization based on culture, sustainability, and performance.
“We are very proud of the group of people we have assembled and bringing Mike into the fold creates an opportunity for us to show even more value to our partners and strengthen our team by competing for victories at every single event in the 2014 IndyCar Series.”
Conway re-confirmed his status as one of the top talents in the sport this past season with a win and third place at the Chevrolet Indy Duals in Detroit, as well as strong drives in both Toronto and Houston in a part-time role for Dale Coyne Racing.
Talking about how delighted he is to be back racing in Indy Car next season, Conway said: “It is great news to be back in IndyCar next year for all the road and street courses. I had a lot of fun this year in the select races that I could do and I hope that I can continue my success with Ed Carpenter Racing next year.”
“I have to thank my manager, Mark Blundell, at MB Partners for working so hard to make this happen and also thank Ed for bringing me on board and allowing me to take over the ECR Chevrolet car for all the road and street courses. I look forward to having a great year with them and can’t wait for the season to start again in March.”
This will be Conway’s sixth IndyCar season with 60 career starts including his two victories, four podiums, five top-fives and 18 top-10 finishes.
