Airwaves Racing Team Manager Oly Collins is looking forward to the Donington Park round of the British Touring Cars this weekend.
After a tough start to the season at Brands Hatch in round one Collins thinks that they have turned the corner as they head to round two.
Speaking to Kent Sports News ahead of the race weekend, he said: “We think that we are in good shape ahead of Donington we had a difficult test at Oulton Park last Friday.
“We found a few problems with the cars on reliability which compromised our test in being able to push the chassis forward.
“Fortunately everyone worked very hard between the Friday and the Monday and we went testing again on the Monday to prove that the fix was the actual fix. Fortunately it was and we got some good testing in at Snetterton on Monday.”
“We hope to have made the gains forward that we needed to after what was fundamentally a difficult Brands Hatch weekend first time out. We are in a lot better shape we think, and we will find out on Saturday afternoon at Donington.”
Hopefully they will be pushing for the front row of the grid and challenging for the race wins, as they are not just reward for the drivers but all those behind the scenes too.
Oly added: “It is certainly the aim and this year with the support of Airwaves and Redstone, Truphone, Addison Lee and all the other guys that help us, it is our strongest most ambitious challenge to date. The only aim is outright honours.
“With the driver line-up of Aron and Mat in the NGTC car and Liam in the S2000 we think that we are in with a chance of getting all the silverware that we can.
