Coach could quit Addicks
Coach could quit Addicks

The Lincolnshire Echo is speculating that current Addicks first team coach, Simon Clark, could be in the frame to be the next Lincoln boss.

Clark is a former Imps player, still resides in the Boston area, and commutes to Sparrows Lane. He has previously had a spell as caretaker manager of Lincoln.

Chris Moyses holds the reins at Sincil Bank at the moment but is stepping down at the end of the season. Boston born Clark looks to be in pole position to be offered the job.

Clark made over a hundred appearances for Peterborough between 1994 and 1997, so has a great affinity with that part of the world.

His last league club as a player was Leyton Orient. After leaving the East London outfit, Clark had a spell as a player/coach in Singapore.

On his return to England, the 49-year-old coached at several non-league clubs, before joining the academy at Sparrows Lane.

Clark coached the Under-18s this season, before stepping up to the role of interim Under-21 coach, when Jason Euell moved to a similar position with the first team under Karel Fraeye.

With Euell unable to agree terms to make the change permanent, he reverted to his Under-21 position, and Clark became first team coach.

Vocal and fiercely ambitious, Charlton will struggle to hold on to Clark if the National League side come calling.
