Gillingham have today named their new Head Coach, with Stephen Clemence taking over the Priestfield hot seat.
For Clemence it will represent his first foray into management, but he has quite the pedigree as a coach and an assistant manager.
He is also the son of England goalkeeping legend Ray Clemence.
Stephen has been assistant manager to Gills legend Steve Bruce at Aston Villa, where he coached Jack Grealish and Newcastle United where Mike Ashely was the owner.
He has also had spells at West Brom, Sunderland and Sheffield Wednesday in a variety of coaching positions.
Most recently he has been doing some coaching with Manchester City’s academy but has stated his desire to become a manager himself.
As a player he represented Tottenham, Birmingham City and Leicester City.
He will be assisted by Robbie Stockdale and will take charge of training for the first time on Thursday.
