Midfielder Sean Clare has returned to Sheffield Wednesday after his loan spell at Gillingham came to an end.
The 21 year old was brought in September by then manager Ady Pennock and has become an instrumental part of Steve Lovell’s plans in recent weeks.
Having played 26 games in the past four months, Clare was more than useful and found himself slotting in a defensive role at times and having returned to Hillsborough, thanked everyone for the chance to feature in League One:
“I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone at Gillingham FC for my fantastic time on loan at the club.”
“Thanks to the gaffer for believing in me and helping my development as a player and a person and thanks to the Chairman for his support.”
“Playing so many games has meant I’ve learnt so much and I’m gutted to be leaving.”
“To the fans, THANK YOU for making me feel so welcome and I will never forget you!”
Scoring the once in his time at the club, Clare also picked up his fifth booking in a Gillingham shirt during his last game for the club, the 2-1 win against Charlton Athletic on New Year’s Day.
