KSN have teamed up with a local man in the know to bring you tips each day for the Cheltenham Festival this week.
Football has the FA Cup; Tennis has Wimbledon; Golf has The Open Championship; Motor Sport has the British Grand Prix.
But whilst some would point at the Grand National is a high point of the Jump Racing year, there can surely be nothing to equal the Cheltenham Festival.
Almost as soon as last year’s Festival ended after being enjoyed by nearly a quarter of a million race goers over the four days, plans for this year’s extravaganza deep in the Cotwolds were being hatched.
Now whether those plans included the frost blankets that are to be used at the moment are open to question, but one things is for certain – Cheltenham 2013 begins on Tuesday with so much promised.
While accepting that there’s a “major” race in this country each week, there really is nothing like Cheltenham.
And 2013 will be no different – a record 2,075 horses have been entered for the 27 races leaving owners and punters alike all searching for the wholly grail – a Festival winner which could be quite simply priceless.
And this year Kent Sports News will be offering you a daily tip from “Our Man in the Cotswold” which we will follow in the name of charity and at the end of Festival (as well as unveiling our tipster) we hope to be a position to present a cheque to Demelza Hospice Care for Children from all of our winnings.
Our tip for Day One is in 3:20 – the Champion Hurdle – tip is ZARKANDAR – Paul Nicholls trained, riden by Daryl Jacob and the other daily tips will be posted on line before midday each day and will also be available through our Twitter account.
Here’s to a great Festival and a lot of money for Demelza…
