The Invicta Dynamos tasted defeat for the first time in six games on Sunday when their current winning streak came to an end.
Up until the trip to Chelmsford Chieftains, Kevin Parrish’s side had won their previous five outings, but they were to be beaten by the league leaders in the National Ice Hockey League South.
Despite leading the game on two occasions, the Dynamos were to go on and lose the game in Essex 7-3.
Canadian import Justin Noble put the Dynamos in front just a minute into the opening period with Callum Fowler restoring the lead just before the interval after Chelmsford equalised.
It was one way traffic though in the second period as the Chieftains put three past the Dynamos to lead 4-2 at the break.
Having gone 5-2 down early in the third period, Andy Smith pulled one back for the Dynamos, but two unanswered goals saw Chelmsford win the game 7-3.
The Dynamos are back in action again this coming weekend with a double header against the Romford Raiders. The two sides face each other in Essex on Saturday night in the cup before returning to Kent to play one another in the league on Sunday night.
Face off at the Silver Blades Ice Bowl in Gillingham is 5:15pm on Sunday night with tickets available from www.invictadynamos.com
