The Invicta Dynamos made it a weekend to remember as they thrashed league leaders Chelmsford Chieftains 6-1 in the cup on Sunday.
Kevin Parrish’s side made it a four point weekend following up Saturday night’s tight 7-6 win over Solent & Gosport with the comprehensive victory over in Essex.
It really couldn’t have gone any better for the Dynamos as they brushed aside their much fancied opponents, racing into a 3-0 lead by the end of the first period.
Danny Hammond was to open the scoring against his former side in just the seventh minute of the game and that opened the floodgates with import Juraj Huska adding the second just a minute later.
It was then down to Harrison Lillis to add the third two minutes before the break as he raced from the blue line before firing high into the net.
Some resolute defending prevented the Chieftains from scoring in the second period, whilst the Dynamos adde two more to their tally.
Andy Smith and Jakub Klima were to get themselves on the scoresheet as the Dynamos went through the gears, much to the disbelief of the home support.
The third and final period was a much tighter affair with both sides scoring in the final minute of the game as Callum Fowler made it 6-0 at the start of the 60th minute, but Chelmsford were to deny Chris Douglas his shut out, scoring what proved to be just a consolation with just four second left on the clock.
Victory for the Dynamos means they have made it six straight wins and extends their unbeaten run to eight games.
Next up for the Dynamos is the visit of London Raiders to the Silver Blades Ice Bowl in Gillingham on Sunday night with face off 5:15pm for the league clash.
