Chatham Town this weekend announced a number of signings both new and retained players as they look to shape their squad for the 2018/19 SCEFL Premier League season.
First to be announced by the club was Reece Butler, Reece was Player of the Year and Player’s Player of the Year award winner last season, and is a big re-signing for the club, to get the young centre half committed for the upcoming campaign.
Taylor McDonagh also a centre half with an eye for goal has committed to the Chats for the coming season as well, and the announcement followed hot on the heels of Butler also signing-up.
Last seasons captain Russell Bedford has also put pen to paper to continue with the club, and he will once again be one of the key members of the squad and the centre of midfield.
Ben Davisson the former Ashford United midfielder who joined the Chats shortly before the end of last season has signed with the club for his first full season at the C&J Stadium.
Local lad Ben Francis who is still only 20-years-old has signed for another year, the ex Crystal Palace youth striker who has also played for Dartford will be homing to be a regular name on the team sheet.
The first new signing to join the Chats for 2018-19 season is Jack Mahoney, Mahoney is a left sided player who can also play in the centre of midfield, and joins the club from Sevenoaks Town. He has also played for Hythe Town and Thamesmead Town, and will be a versatile member of the squad.
Joining him at Chatham Town is former Sevenoaks teammate Jason Thompson, JT is a centre midfielder who has experience of a Championship campaign last season.
One player who broke into the first team at the Chats was Billy Brown and he has committed to another season with Chatham as he looks to continue the form that saw him break into the first team last season.
Sam Welch was the final player so far to have been announced as re-signing with the club with the former Hollands and Blair right back looking for a more consistent season having spent a lot of the 2017-18 season injured, so it will be like having a new signing for the club.
