Chatham Town 3-1 Dulwich Hamlet
Chatham Town 3-1 Dulwich Hamlet

Chatham Town continued their fine form with a reasonably easy victory over Dulwich Hamlet, extending their unbeaten run to three games, moving up to eighth in the process.

The game started with a bang, with just 22 seconds on the clock, Chatham nearly scored when Kofi Anokye Boadi was put through on his own but once in the area his shot was deflected away for a corner, thanks to some good defending.

The game then went a little stale as both sides went quiet and in the 22nd minute Jordi Robins saw his 20-yard effort go wide which typified the game thus far.

In the 32nd minute Chatham took the lead when Freddie Sears in midfield put Jamie Yila through, he raced into the area unchallenged and shot past Dillon Barnes.

The last chance of an uneventful half came in the second minute of added on time when Luke Wanadio in the area saw his shot from the by-line blocked by Brad House for a corner.

The second half was completely different to the previous 45 minutes, in the 48th minute Dulwich got a surprise equaliser when Wanadio’s free kick on the right side off the area deceived House at the near post having taken it quickly, not a good goal to give away.

Two minutes later Sears put Yila in again and as he was about to shoot it was blocked. In the 51st minute a short corner was played to Jack Evans who swung the ball into the area evading everyone except Sears who on the back post stabbed in to make it 2-1.

This stunned Dulwich and they went into their shells but in the 76th minute they were unlucky not to equalise again when a corner to the back post found Michael Chambers whose header came back off the post.

Chatham secured the points in the 85th minute when Yila passed into the path of Sam Sene-Richardson who dummied it and then from 20 yards saw his curling effort beat Barnes.
