Chatham Town kept their 100% home record up with a convincing win against 3rd placed Beckenham Town and kept up their promotion push.
Chatham had a great start when in the 9th minute they scored when a Jack Evans corner to the near post was flicked in by Dan Bradshaw.
Beckenham had a great chance to equalise when Louie Theophanous when he was put through on goal & went round Ben Bridle-Card but his shot was blocked & went out for a corner.
After this scare Chatham took control of the game & created loads of chances, in the 13th minute Evans saw his 20 yard shot saved by Nick Blue, ten minutes later Evans again saw his 30 yard shot go just over the bar.
Blue came to Beckenham’s rescue in the 30th minute when Evans cross to the back post saw Emmanuel Oloyede’s header from 5 yards pushed away by Blue.
Two minutes later & Chatham deservedly doubled their lead when Evans again crossed into the area for Oloyede who had time to control it & then shoot home from 8 yards.
In the 34th minute Seidou Sanogo received the ball from Oloyede & his shot from 20 yards flew over the bar, Beckenham were lucky it was only two then in the 37th minute Stefan Cox weaved his way past two defenders &into the area but his shot from an acute angle went over the bar.
In the 39th minute it was nearly three when Matt Bodkin on the left got to the by-line & passed into the path of Evans & his shot from 12 yards was blocked on the line & cleared.
Chatham continued their dominance & in the 48th minute a Evans corner into the area saw Reece Butler’s header go just over the bar.
In the 51st minute in a rare attack Beckenham nearly got a goal back when Cox on the right cut in & his shot was pushed over the post by Bridle-Card for a corner.
Chatham got their third goal in the 61st minute another Evans corner into the box was headed on for Oloyede to head in from two yards.
Beckenham were now looking a beaten side & considering they were third at the start of the day Chatham made them look like a relegation side.
The game petered out with Chatham in total control & looking good for at least a play-off spot or even first place & promotion, the season might have a lot of games to go but being second in the League, quarter finalist in the Kent Cup, Semi-finalist in the Velocity cup what a season to remember for them.
