Rob Hulse has completed a loan switch to The Valley in time to face Watford on Tuesday night.

The Crewe born front man will be 33 later this month and has been told he has no future at Loftus Road, so the move could be made permanent in January if both parties are happy.

Hulse first sprang to prominence a decade or so ago when he formed a prolific parnership with Dean Ashton at Gresty Road. In total, he made 116 league appearances for the Railwaymen, scoring 46 goals before moving on to West Brom.

Further moves saw Hulse play for Leeds, Sheffield United, Derby and latterly Queens Park Rangers. He only made a couple of appearances for Rangers in the Premier League last season and does not figure in Mark Hughes’ plans.

Hulse’s experience and nous will be valuable assets for Chris Powell to have at his disposal.
