Rotherham United manager, Paul Warne, will have to make changes for Monday’s game at The Valley.
Left-back, Joe Mattock, and midfielder, Richie Towell, have picked up hamstring injuries.
Warne said this to the Sheffield Star:
“I think Mattock might be a grade-one hammy. The diagnosis on Mattock was given to me before the final whistle.
“Towell, I don’t honestly know because I haven’t spoken to the physio yet, but I think it could also be a hammy. It will be a blow if both are out.”
Warne will have juggle his defence and former Addick, Richard Wood, could get a start.
Lee Bowyer likes to adapt his tactics to counter the opposition, but that could be tricky. Warne is planning to change his system to counter Charlton, as he explained:
“I was already planning to change the side. I’d sort of told the lads that I was going to change the way we play and bring a couple of fresh faces in.
“I need to check how Charlton are playing. By all accounts, they’ve gone 4-4-2 now and got back-to-back wins,” said Warne.
Bowyer hinted after the Northampton game that he would like to field an unchanged side. But with some of the team having returned from long term injury, they could suffer a reaction if they play too many games in quick succession.
The players Robinson is referring to are probably Lewis Page, Nicky Ajose and Michal Zyro.
Page cramped after the Northampton game, and Joe Aribo and Jason Pearce took knocks in the game at Sixfields, but managed to finish the game. Bowyer will have to assess their fitness before naming his side.
Bowyer is likely to have Jay Dasilva available again, and may be tempted to rest on of his strikers.
Having gone unbeaten for fourteen games, Rotherham have won just one of their last five outings.
Charlton could look something like this:
Amos; Dijksteel, Bauer, Pearce, Dasilva; Reeves, Konsa, Forster-Caskey, Fosu; Magennis, Ajose.
Subs: Phillips, Page, Sarr, Aribo, Marshall, Kaikai, Zyro.
Graham Horwood from Bedfordshire will be the referee.
Bowyer will be confident his team will take something from the game.
