Karl Robinson will bid to become the first Charlton manager in a generation to beat Millwall.
With four new arrivals, Tony Watt back from Hearts, Ricky Holmes and possibly Declan Rudd available again, Robinson has far more options than he did for last month’s encounter at the Den.
Rudd is close to full fitness again, though Robinson may stick with Dillon Phillips on this occasion.
Chris Solly, Patrick Bauer and Jorge Teixeira will likely start again, with new signing, Lewis Page, replacing Morgan Fox on the left side of defence.
Robinson is a devotee of 4-2-3-1 and has the personnel to deploy this system now. Andrew Crofts and Ezri Konsa are the most likely midfield anchors, with Nathan Byrne, Joe Aribo and Adam Chicksen as the probable trio of advanced midfielders.
The game may have come a little too soon for Jake Forster-Caskey, but Robinson may include the former Brighton man on the bench.
Josh Magennis will be the front runner.
Charlton could look something like this:
Phillips; Solly, Bauer, Teixeira, Page; Konsa, Crofts; Byrne, Aribo, Chicksen; Magennis.
Subs: Rudd, Dasilva, Ulvestad, Forster-Caskey, Holmes, Watt, Ajose.
Hampshire’s Keith Stroud will be the referee.
The Valley’s biggest crowd of the season will include a packed away end, so there should be a cracking atmosphere.
The Lions have been in fine form since beating the Addicks last month, and will come into the game full of confidence.
But Charlton have taken seven points from there last three games, and Robinson will also fancy his chances.
