Charlton Athletic v Bromley preview

Bromley play their final EFL Trophy Group Stage game on Tuesday night when they travel to The Valley to face Charlton Athletic knowing a win will take them through to the knock out stages of the competition.

On Saturday The Ravens drew 1-1 away at Cheltenham Town despite going down to ten men in the first half when Carl Jenkinson received a second yellow card and conceding just after half time.

Omar Sowunmi equalised late on with a header from a Kamarl Grant cross to secure another point towards consolidating their League 2 status in their debut season. The result left Bromley in nineteenth with 15 points from 14 league games.

So far in the EFL Trophy, Andy Woodman’s team have beaten Cambridge Utd on penalties after a 3-3 draw and lost 3-2 to Chelsea U21s, with both games being played at Hayes Lane. The Ravens can only progress with an outright win, but will be keen to make progress with the prospect of another Wembley final at the end of it.

The Addicks have won both of their group stage games to far and are already guaranteed to go through to the next round, beating Cambridge Utd 2-1 away and Chelsea U21s3-0 at home. In League One Nathan Jones’ side sit in thirteenth with 19 points from 14 matches, on Saturday they lost 1-0 away at Exeter City, their first defeat in five games.

Bromley have sold a good number of tickets already for the game, given the locality of the opposition and the chance to see their team play at The Valley against a team who were playing in the Premier League not so long ago when The Ravens were struggling down in the Isthmian League Division One.

Tickets for the game are only £10 & £5, kick off is at 7pm.
