The Addicks won the second game of their warm-up campaign on the artificial surface of the Victoria Stadium in Gibraltar on Wednesday evening.
A dominant first half performance was followed by a more even second period. Jordan Cousins – partnering Johnnie Jackson in central midfield during the first half and slotting in at right-back in the second – and Danny Green produced impressive performances.
Charlton took the lead after just two minutes when a fine run and cross by Green was converted by Callum Harriott. The youngster did not have to break stride as he volleyed into the net.
Chris Powell made eight changes at the break with Leon Cort and Michael Smith later coming back on as the game went into its final stages.
Bradley Pritchard turned in Smith’s header across goal two minutes from the end. On a humid night, Powell would have been pleased with the work out his team were given.
