Charlton drew 1-1 with Birmingham at their Alvechurch training complex on Saturday lunchtime.
The Addicks went in front after 22 minutes when Alfie Doughty finished off a sweeping move down the right.
George Lapslie burst into the area, and rolled the ball across for Doughty to prod home.
The Blues equalised with virtually the last kick of the half when Caolan Boyd-Munce rifled the ball into the roof of the net.
Both sides changed all eleven players at the break, but there was no further scoring.
The Addicks used three trialists during the game. Tareiq Holmes-Dennis is a left sided player who can be deployed as a conventional left-back, but is better suited to a more advanced wing-back role.
He came through the Charlton Academy before leaving for Huddersfield in the summer of 2016. He spent the 2017/18 season on loan at Portsmouth before joining Bristol Rovers at the beginning of the 2018/19 campaign.
Still only 24-years-old, Holmes-Dennis could be a useful player at League One level.
Josh Clarke is a 25-year-old right-back who came through the Brentford Academy, and Dennon Lewis is a 23-year-old striker.
He is currently playing for Wealdstone but was once on Watford’s books. Lewis is probably best known for his appearance on Love Island.
New boys, Alex Gilbey and Conor Washington both took part, and former West Ham youngster, Jay Mingi was also involved.
Jason Pearce and Chuks Aneke were both missing, presumably with minor niggles.
Lee Bowyer used a 3-5-2 formation in the first half – with Lapslie and Doughty playing as wing backs – but switched to a 4-4-2 shape after the break.
Bowyer will use the same format in the games against Southend on Tuesday and Crystal Palace next Saturday.
Though he will be treating the Carabao Cup game at Swindon in two weeks time as a warm up game for the league campaign, the manager will use it as a dress rehearsal for the season opener at Crewe a week later.
