Chris Powell will want to build on Tuesday’s win over Doncaster to propel his side up the league.

Mick McCarthy turned Ipswich’s fortunes round last season and he will be encouraged by his team’s recent form on the road. The Tractor Boys are unbeaten in their last four matches away from home, winning one and drawing three.

For a resolute defender, McCarthy’s teams do get involved in some high scoring games. Ipswich play with a 4-4-2 system and Powell is likely to send his team out in the same formation.

Ben Hamer will be out with ligament damage, so Ben Alnwick will continue in goal. Nick Pope has returned from York and will provide the goalkeeping cover on the bench.

Dale Stephens had another fine game as the more forward of the central midfield duo against Doncaster and Cameron Stewart was a constant threat on the right.
