The match with Huddersfield on Saturday will be the club’s annual Football For A Fiver promotion, and a bumper crowd of around 25,000 is expected.
Huddersfield are managed by former Charlton player and boss, Chris Powell. Powell is certain of a warm welcome but he will be determined to beat his old employers.
There will a special hundred page edition of the programme issued, which will carry details of next season’s ticket pricing.
The latest edition of the Supporter’s Trust magazine, TNT, will also be out and this issue carries an interview with Powell. TNT is free and available at various points around the ground.
The Terriers have three points more than the Addicks and are four places above their hosts in the table.
Huddersfield have been more free scoring than Charlton were under Powell’s tutelage, so it could be a more entertaining game than many will be anticipating.
Guy Luzon will have one or two decisions to make, as he goes looking for his second successive home win.
Stephen Henderson has brought assurance to the defence since his return and will continue between the sticks.
Chris Solly, Tal Ben Haim, Roger Johnson and Morgan Fox look set to continue in front of Henderson.
The central midfield duo will give Luzon food for thought. There are upbeat reports from the club about Jordan Cousins’ availability, but the game is likely to come a little too soon for him.
Lawrie Wilson and Yoni Buyens did not impress at Derby on Tuesday and Alou Diarra could make his first start for the club. Buyens could be his partner with Johann Gudmundsson and Frederic Bulot on the flanks.
Tony Watt and Igor Vetokele are likely to be the front two.
Luzon’s team could look like this:
Henderson; Solly, Ben Haim, Johnson, Fox; Gudmundsson, Buyens, Diarra, Bulot; Watt, Vetokele.
Subs: Dmitrovic, Gomez, Bikey, Wilson, Lepoint, Eagles, Harriott.
The referee will be James Linington from the Isle Of Wight.
It will be an emotional afternoon and the Addicks do not have a good record in these £5 promotional matches, but they will fancy their chances of winning this one.
The Under-21 side, featuring first teamers Marko Dmitrovic, Joe Gomez, Andre Bikey, Christophe Lepoint, Callum Harriott and Karlan Ahearne-Grant, lost 2-0 to table-topping Swansea at Sparrows Lane on Thursday.
The heavy rain meant the match was played on a poor surface.
